Read Original ArticleBRADENTON/SARASOTA, FL: May 5, 2026 — The Pops Orchestra of Bradenton & Sarasota is pleased to announce the appointment of Elyza Wylder-Wilcox as the inaugural Director of Marketing and Communications. In this role, Wylder-Wilcox will lead the organization’s marketing strategy, audience engagement, and communications efforts as The Pops Orchestra strengthens its connection in the community.
Wylder-Wilcox’s background as a musician and marketer has uniquely positioned her to serve audiences, blending artistic insight with communications strategy. Wylder-Wilcox has extensive experience in the arts, not only as an arts administrator, but also as a French horn player with The Pops Orchestra. Her approach focuses on making the arts more accessible through meaningful connections and storytelling.
Wylder-Wilcox holds an undergraduate degree in music from Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music with a minor in business. Combining her love of performance with a growing focus on how audiences experience and relate to the arts, she obtained her Master of Arts in Arts Administration from Florida State University.
Originally from Atlanta, GA, work in the arts has taken her across the country, eventually bringing her to Sarasota through a marketing role with Sarasota Opera. Building on that experience, she expanded her focus in arts marketing by founding Be Wylder Media, a Sarasota-based marketing company. Through her work, she has supported a range of clients in developing content strategies, increasing audience engagement, and strengthening their brand presence both online and in person.
Her clients have included organizations such as Noel Paul Stookey’s Music to Life, Ring Sarasota, The Lakewood Ranch Wind Ensemble, Hashtag Yarn Corner, Goodwill of Manasota, and more. After a year and a half of supporting The Pops Orchestra through Be Wylder Media, Wylder-Wilcox now steps into an expanded role to lead the organization’s marketing and communications efforts.
“Elyza brings an extraordinary combination of creativity, strategic insight, and passion for music,” said Robyn Bell, managing and artistic director of The Pops Orchestra of Bradenton & Sarasota. “As we looked to expand our staff, we knew this marketing and communications role would be vital, and are thrilled to welcome Elyza to the team. Her vision and energy will expand our reach, deepen our connection with the community, and help share the magic of The Pops Orchestra with an even wider audience.”
In her role, Wylder-Wilcox will oversee marketing campaigns, digital content, audience engagement, and communications initiatives. She aims to highlight the people, experiences, and impact that make The Pops Orchestra a unique part of the Suncoast arts landscape, working to strengthen The Pops Orchestra’s presence throughout the region and support its mission of bringing “music you love, by musicians you know, in the community we embrace.”
